"I was thrilled when I was approached by Bamsby to try and test their new show saddle. I am lucky enough to compete a wide range of show horses from mountain and moorlands to hacks and riding horses. I have successfully competed at some of the countries largest shows including being a regular competitor at Olympia and Horse ofthe year show. I have ridden for the countries top producers including Mandy Jackson, Richard Telford and Matthew Lawrence. During this time I have experienced a wide range of saddles!

This season I have a number of horses to compete including my own 5 year old small riding horse Millthyne Carina known at home as Tubby. The saddle I currently use is an old working hunter saddle so I was pleased to be able to use a saddle that has been designed purely for showing and created to show the horse of and also be suitable for a ride judge to ride on. As the name explains Tubby is a short coupled mare with a flat wither, this has often meant finding a saddle that fits is an impossible task.

The saddle I was given is a 17 Y2 inch wide tree Show saddle with a beautiful waxed leather finish. The saddle is the perfect design for a show horse as it is straight cut but included both a knee and a thigh roll for maximum comfort.

This is important to consider when buying a saddle not only for yourself but also suitable for a ride judge. The waxed finish provided the same feeling asa suede finish keeping you very still in the saddle.

The fit of the saddle ensured freedom of movement and I found especially the trot became very loose and free. Normally I find Tubby's saddle moves around as she is . very flat across her wither but this saddle didn't move and I only had to use a very thin sheepskin numnah at a show.

I found the saddle to be great value for money compared to some of its competitors. The leather used was of a high standard and looked extremely smart in the ring. I used ~he saddle at my first county show of the season and Tubby qualified for the Royal International horse show.

I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE NEW BARNSBY SHOW SADDLE." Vicky Smith

Horse: Victor - 6yo, dark bay warmblood - 16.2hh

Victor has the paces and presence to excel in the dressage arena, but also the looks for the show ring. As such, Amanda wanted to try him in showing classes and to develop his all round abilities by bringing on his jumping.

Amanda needed a saddle which would take her to the show ring but would also be forward cut enough to use for his jumping work and asked Barnsby to fit Victor with one of their working hunter saddles with a matching double bridle.

"The service I received from Barnsby was both professional and honest. Victor is not an easy horse to fit and they listened to my specific requirements and the use to which I would put the saddle before going ahead with recommending the working hunter. The result is a saddle which looks great in the show ring, being straight enough to show off Victor's shoulder and allow him to show off his paces, but works well for his jumping schooling at home. I feel comfortable and secure at all paces in this saddle and would definitely recommend Barnsby to anyone with specific needs." Amanda New
