The traditional wooden saddle tree has no equal when it comes to providing comfort for the horse and a safe, secure seat for the rider, but one of the drawbacks of the traditional tree is that every back profile requires an individually sized saddle.

Barnsby have solved this problem with the development of Series Eight Saddles with APS (Adjustable Point System), a revolutionary new system for adjusting the width of the saddle that allows the trained APS saddle fitter to change the fitting from Medium fitting to Wide at the turn of a key.

The advantages are infinite. Though you may decide to change your horse in the future you can now keep the same saddle, as your APS saddle will be easily adjusted to suit your new mount. If you have a young horse, APS saddles from Barnsby may be altered to suit changes in his shape and conformation as he matures.

APS allows the saddle fitter to select the most appropriate width and set the saddle to suit. Once set, the points of the tree are locked securely into place, with stainless steel gullet plates providing extra strength. Should a change in width be required later, the saddle fitter can organise this simply and easily on site.
