Ted does it again!

Ted does it again!

Ted Clydesdale, star of the heart warming children’s book and DVD ‘The Story of Ted’, made a celebrity appearance at Blenheim Horse Trials, where he did what he does best, putting on a stunning performance helping to raise funds for people and animals less fortunate than himself. Sally, Ted’s rider and saviour, tells us all about it:

The ride at Blenheim on Ted gave me a huge lump in my throat!
The horse that was sold for £100 at 12 weeks of age fronting the nominated charity of Blenheim Horse trials 2006 (the Helen Douglas House Children's Hospice) was an honour and he gave me the ride of my life. A fabulous Rocking Horse of Ted was made by the legendary Stevenson Brothers and was raffled at Blenheim, raising over £7,500! The lucky ticket was drawn by the Duke of Malborough. Our display in the main arena was a really emotional experience, as this gentle giant of a horse has come so far from such a poor start to life. His custom-made Barnsby saddle fits him like a glove and it gave me the best ride ever.’

Ted will be returning to Blenheim 2007 by kind invitation of Mike Etherington Smith, Blenheim's show director. Ted will continue to front the junior membership of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust - the Survivors Club - into 2007, helping fight for the survival of our precious rare breeds along with the society's patron, HRH Prince Charles.
