European Silver medal for Mary!
Barnsby sponsored rider, Mary King, put in an exceptional performance under testing conditions to claim the individual silver medal and help Britain win its 7th consecutive team gold at the European Championships in Pratoni, Italy.
Mary and Call Again Cavalier put in an impressive performance in the dressage arena to score 36.50 (75.70%) to lie in 7th after the first phase. A testing cross country course and testing conditions saw many riders encounter problems around the course, including several favourites for medals. However, Mary showed all her experience to steer Call Again Cavalier around the course for a flawless performance, adding just 4.8 time faults to her dressage score to rising to 5th place going into the show jumping phase.
The show jumping track claimed many victims and a superb clear round from Mary and Call Again Cavalier saw them rocket into the Silver medal position behind Nicolas Touzaint and Galan de Sauvagere from France, the worthy gold medal winners who finished on their impressive dressage score of 29.40.
