Meet Ted

Meet Ted

Hello my name is Ted Clydesdale and I was rescued by a lovely young lady called Sally when I was sold as a foal. I was on deaths door because I had a blockage in my stomach caused by a worm infection. Thankfully the vet was able to remove the blockage and after a long battle I regained my health. I live with Sally and all the rest of the animals in Cheshire. I will be introducing you to my new friends but first read how it all began:

Once upon a time there lived on a farm in Cheshire, a young Kind-natured foal called Ted, with his mother Blossom. His home was a meadow field surrounded by a hedge bearing ripe blackberries and sweet smelling honeysuckle. Ted's mum tried hard to feed her son, but alas there was no milk for him. The farmer who owned these two Clydesdale horses had to put them up for sale as he was taking early retirement. The countryside simply could not provide a living anymore and, heartbreakingly the day of the sale arrived. The two horses stood in their stable with all their friends from the farm, as the people arrived for the sale.

Ted huddled close to Blossom, wishing they could be back in the field that was his first home. The rope and halter around Ted's nose was very itchy; as the boy took him and his mother to the sale ring, he felt scared. The auctioneer made jokes about his appearance and camel-like coat and, as the hammer went down, Blossom was sold. Ted's mum was led away from the farmyard and he thought he would never see her again. Her gentle words rang in his ears. "Be a good boy. Never kick or bite. Always remember, I will always love you wherever you are." The little foal felt that his heart would break as he stood alone in the stable.

Watch out for Ben's next diary entry and follow his journey to his new home.
